The Monke Reset home screen: a 52 day streak, a Help button, and buttons for Pledge, Breathe, Why and Relapse.

Three things, in the order they matter.

  1. Block it at the source

Turn on Protection. Your iPhone’s own content filter blocks adult sites, plus apps you pick, and it holds when you switch browsers or close the app.

The Monke Reset home screen: a 52 day, 9 hour, 29 minute streak with a Help button beside it, and a row of Pledge, Breathe, Why and Relapse buttons underneath.
  2. Have a move ready

When it gets loud, hit Help. A breathing timer, your own reasons, and a line that names what’s happening. Not a blank screen.

  3. Make the days count

Your streak, a full-year calendar, and a ninety-day plan with a real date on it. The days stop blurring together and start adding up.

Four parts. Each one has a job.

Here’s the mechanism behind each one, so you can decide before you download.

It isn’t one tap away

  • Applied by iOS
  • Apps you pick
  • Runs with the app closed

Protection hands the blocking to your iPhone’s own Screen Time content filter. Adult sites go dark, plus any apps you pick. It’s iOS doing the blocking, not an extension.

Anyone with the Screen Time passcode can turn it off, and we’re not pretending otherwise.

Help, the moment it hits

One tap opens the screen built for the ninety seconds that decide it: a breathing timer, your own written reasons, your pledge, and two honest buttons.

I’m okayI relapsed

“This is a wave. Don’t move while it crests.”

on screen, while it passes

The Monke Reset home screen: a large day counter, a Help pill, and four round buttons labelled Pledge, Breathe, Why and Relapse under the heading Lock in for today.

Ninety days, with a date

Ninety squares, one per day, filling in as you go. Under them, the date you’ll be free by. Not someday.

The Monke Reset ninety-day plan: a grid of ninety squares with forty-two filled in, labelled Day 42 of 90, above the line you will be free by August 28, 2026.

Every day on one wall

A whole year on one screen. Black for a free day, red for a relapse, and you can tap any square to correct it.

A slip is data, not a verdict.
what the app says after you log one
The Monke Reset calendar: a full year of small squares, each day marked black for free or red for a relapse, with tabs for switching year.

Straight answers.

Including the ones that make us look bad, so read the awkward one first.

Two of these have longer versions: why porn blockers stop working and how to block porn on an iPhone. Something not covered anywhere? Ask us directly.

Can I get past the blocker?

Yes, if you really want to. Protection runs on Apple’s Screen Time, so anyone who knows the Screen Time passcode can switch the filter off. Every app in this category works that way, and the ones that tell you otherwise are lying to you. That limit is real and we won’t hide it.

What it does do is take porn off the one-tap path at 1am and put a wall, a passcode and a minute of thinking in front of it. That minute is usually the whole fight, and the ten seconds it takes to undo are usually the ten seconds you needed. Set a passcode you don’t memorise, or let someone you trust hold it, and the wall holds harder.

What exactly does Monke Reset need permission to do?

One permission: Screen Time. iOS asks you to allow it the first time you turn Protection on, and that’s what lets Monke Reset install the content filter and block the apps you pick. Nothing else is required. No account, no email, no login, and no access to your browsing.

You can take that permission back whenever you want, in iPhone Settings under Screen Time. It’s the same door that lets anyone holding the Screen Time passcode turn Protection off, which is why the passcode matters more than the app does.

Does it work on Android?

No. Monke Reset is an iPhone app, and there’s no Android version today. Protection is built directly on Apple’s Screen Time content filter, which is part of iOS, so there is nothing to port straight across.

Does it block apps too, or only websites?

Both. iOS applies the filter itself rather than a browser extension, so it holds when you switch browsers or open a private window. You can add any apps you want blocked alongside the sites. The filtering happens at the system level, not inside Monke Reset.

Does it still work when the app is closed?

Yes. The filter runs at the system level, so it keeps working whether Monke Reset is open, closed, force quit, or buried in a folder on your last home screen. Nothing has to stay running in the background, and there is nothing to remember to switch on each day.

What happens when I tap Help?

Help opens one screen, built for the ninety seconds that decide it. You get a breathing timer that slows you down on purpose, the reasons you wrote when you were thinking clearly, your own pledge, and rotating lines that name what’s happening while it happens, like “This is a wave. Don’t move while it crests.”

It ends with two buttons, “I’m okay” and “I relapsed”, and neither of them lies to you. It works with Protection rather than instead of it: the wall buys you the minute, Help is what you do with the minute.

What happens when I relapse?

Your streak goes back to zero, and nothing else is lost. Every day you already logged, your best streak, your total days free and the whole calendar stay exactly where they were. The calendar marks that day red, you can tap any square to correct it later, and the count starts again.

There’s a screen for the minute after, and it doesn’t shame you. The app’s own words for it are “a slip is data, not a verdict”. You log it, you look at what happened, you start the next day.

Do you see my browsing history?

No. Apple’s content filter does the filtering on the device itself, and the app is never handed a list of what you visited or what got blocked. There’s no account and no server of ours holding your data. Your streak, your reasons and your pledge stay on your phone.

Do I need an account?

No. There’s no email, no password and no login anywhere in Monke Reset. You open the app and start. Your streak, your written reasons, your pledge and your calendar live on the phone rather than in an account we hold, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign out of.

How much does Monke Reset cost?

Monke Reset is a paid subscription, and there is no free tier. The App Store shows you the exact price in your own currency before you’re charged, so check it there rather than taking a number off a website. Everything is unlocked from day one, there’s no second purchase waiting inside the app, and you can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings.

Day oneis tonight.

Set the filter before bed and wake up on day 1.
